Description: | Coculture of HUVECs with homocysteine resulted in an increase in percentage of SA-β-gal-positive cells with a maximum effects achieved at 4 μM . In the prolonged culture, the number of SA-β-gal-positive cells at 4μM progressively rose from ~5% at day 1 to 24% at day 7. Over the 7-day period in culture, homocysteine produced as much as about five-fold increase in the percentage of senescent endothelial cells. |
