Aging Overview

External factors

External factors: TBHP
Aging type: Accelerate
Aging characteristic:
Category: Chemical compounds
Phenotype: Aging
Experimental category: L
Tissue type: --
Cell name: HMC
PMID: 23984931
Experiment: SA-β-gal activity assay//Flow cytometry
Description: SA-β-gal activity assay:SA-gal staining was significantly increased in the tBHPstimulated cells compared with the control cells. Flow cytometry:Flow cytometry was used to characterize the nature of cell cycle arrest. The cell cycle was arrested at the G0?G1 phase in the tBHP-stimulated cells (90.76% ± 6.34%) compared with the control cells.

Regulatory relationship

Target gene: BCL-2//BAX//STAT1//STAT3
R-EF-Target gene: Downregulation//Upregulation//Activation//Activation
Official symbol(s): BCL-2//BAX//STAT1//STAT3
Target gene experiment: Western blot
Target gene description: Bcl-2 protein expression decreased (p < 0.05) while Bax protein expression significantly increased (p < 0.01) in tBHP-induced cells compared with the control cells.Exposure of cells to 30 mol/L tBHP resulted in activation of STAT1 and STAT3 as manifested by an increase in STAT phosphorylation.
