Aging Overview

External factors

External factors: GATA4
Aging type: Accelerate
Aging characteristic:
Category: Chemical compounds
Phenotype: Aging
Experimental category: HL
Tissue type: --
Cell name: Fibroblast,IMR-90
PMID: 26404840
Experiment: SA-β-gal activity assay//Western blot//BrdU assay
Description: Ectopic expression of GATA4 induced senescence in human foreskin fibroblasts and IMR-90 fibroblasts ,as shown by increased senescence-associated β-galactosidase (SA-β-Gal) activity and decreased 5-bromo-2′-deoxyuridine (BrdU) incorporation. More important, depletion of GATA4 with stably expressed short hairpin RNAs (shRNAs) partially decreased IR-induced SA-β-Gal activity and delayed replicative senescence.

Regulatory relationship

Target gene: NF-κB
R-EF-Target gene: Activation
Official symbol(s): NFKB1
Target gene experiment: Immunocytochemistry//Western blot
Target gene description: GATA4 expression triggered NF-κB activation, and GATA4 depletion inhibited NF-κB activation during senescence.
