Aging Overview

External factors

External factors: Thiostrepton
Aging type: Accelerate
Aging characteristic:
Category: Chemical compounds
Phenotype: Breast cancer
Experimental category: L
Tissue type: --
Cell name: MCF-7,MDA-MB-436
PMID: 31322278
Experiment: SA-β-gal activity assay//Cell morphological analysis
Description: MCF-7 cells treated with thiostrepton exhibited SA-β-gal activity and their morphology changed, with the cells becoming enlarged and flattened. The SA-β-gal activity was determined to be increased in a dose-dependent manner, with the highest activity observed at 4 μM. MDA-MB-436 cells also exhibited senescence morphology, with positive SA-β-gal activity, after being exposed to thiostrepton.

Regulatory relationship

Regulatory pathway: FOXM1
R-EF-Pathway: Downregulation
Official symbol(s): FOXM1
Pathway experiment: RT-PCR
Pathway description: After 24 h of thiostrepton exposure, MCF-7 cells exhibited downregulation of FOXM1.
