Pathway description: | Compare to either NG or MN treated cells, exposure to HG resulted in a significant decrease in SIRT1 protein expression and its deacetylase activity .After transfection of pSIRT1, the protein expression and deacetylase activity of SIRT1 was significantly increased, while the protein expression of Ac-p53 and p21 were markedly decreased. In a similar manner, p300 siRNA transfection reduced the protein levels of p300, Ac-p53, and p21. It is interesting that SIRT1 over-expression suppressed the expression of p300 by nearly 50%, and p300 knock-down reciprocally increased the expression and activity of SIRT1. |
