Description: As compared to young rats, the percentage of β-galactosidase-positive cells was significantly increased(22.00% + 2.65% vs 83.67% + 9.50%, P < .001). Administra-tion of simvastatin to aged rats significantly lowered the percentage of β-galactosidase-positive cells as compared to that seen in untreated aged rats (68.83% + 7.47% vs 83.67% + 9.50%, P ? .001).
