Aging Overview

External factors

External factors: F14512
Aging type: Accelerate
Aging characteristic:
Category: Chemical compounds
Phenotype: Cancer
Experimental category: L
Tissue type: --
Cell name: P388
PMID: 22127645
Experiment: SA-β-gal activity assay//Flow cytometry//Cell morphological analysis
Description: Cell cycle analysis revealed that the treatment of P388 cells with F14512 or etoposide resulted in S-phase accumulation at 4–8 h of treatment whereas the proportion of cells in G1 phase decreased.P388 cells positive for SA-β-gal demonstrated enlarged morphology.Using this flow cytometric method for quantitative analysis of senescent cells, we observed that F14512 was more successful in inducing premature senescence of P388 cells than etoposide.

Regulatory relationship

Target gene: SURVIVIN
R-EF-Target gene: Upregulation
Official symbol(s): SURVIVIN
Target gene experiment: Western blot//Immunofluorescence
Target gene description: Immunofluorescence experiments revealed a pronounced increase of survivin level in the nucleus and to a lesser extent in the cytoplasm of F14512 or etoposide treated cells .Exposure of cancer cells to F14512 or etoposide resulted in a striking increase in survivin expression by western blotting.
