Description: | We studied the gene and protein expression of α, β/δ and γ PPAR isoforms in venous wall from CVeD patients and HV controls. We observed a significant decrease in PPAR-α gene expression by RT-qPCR in CVeD patients with respect to HV controls (HV=5.224 [3.659-8.039] RQ vs CVeD=4.632 [2.365-6.387] RQ, ***p=0.0004). We also studied PPAR-α protein expression by immunohistochemistry (IHC). We observed a significant decrease in the score, with a mean of 1.500 [0.500-2.750] in the HV group and 0.000 [0.500-2.750] in the CVeD group, **p=0, 0001. Furthermore, The percentage of positive samples was 100% (n=27) in the HV group and 74.286% (n=26) in the CVeD group. |
