Aging Overview

Aging gene

Gene name: RING1
Aging type: Prevent
Aging characteristic:
Tissue type: --
Cell name: HepG2,HCT116
Gene ID: 6015
Category: protein coding
Phenotype: Hepatocellular carcinoma
Experimental category: HL
PMID: 29187402
Experiment: SA-β-gal activity assay//Flow cytometry
Description: Significant induction of senescence was observed, as 3- to 7-fold more cells were positively stained in the RING1-deficient group showed than in the controls. FACS analysis also indicated that, upon RING1 depletion, increased cell subpopulations were found to retain in G1 phase (increased from 60.0% to 68.4% in HepG2 cells, and from 53.1% to 58.9% in HCT116 cells), suggesting that RING1 deficiency might at least cause partial G1 arrest.

Regulatory relationship

Target gene: P53
Official symbol(s): P53
R-AG-Target gene: --
Subcategory: Unclear
Target gene experiment: Knockdown//Western blot
Target gene description: RING1 knockdown decreased the ubiquitination of p53.In a reconstituted in vitro ubiquitination assay that included E1, UbcH6 (E2), ATP and Ub, RING1 was also found to ubiquitinate p53.
