Pathway description: | MKP2 expression resulted in a dramatic decrease of thelifespan of the ERK2:NLS line while it had no effect in the lifespan of the phosphatase resistant ERK2(D319N):NLS cells. Thus, we concluded that MKP2 overexpression inhibits proliferation and accelerates senescence by inhibiting nuclear ERK signaling and not by inactivating other MAPK family members. |
