Description: | There was a significant increase in the number of beta-galactosidase positive cells in the airways of NA-treated Carm1+/- mice compared to NA-treated WT animals (31.8 ± 3.4% vs 8.2 ± 2.8%, p<0.001). Consistent with mouse airway epithelial cells, the siCARM1-transfected 337 human cells showed a significantly higher percentage of beta-galact osidase-positive cells compared with 338 scrambled controls (13.2 ± 0.6% vs 3.7 ± 0.6%, p<0.001). |
Target gene: | SIRT1//P53 |
Official symbol(s): | SIRT1//P53 |
R-AG-Target gene: | --//-- |
Subcategory: | Unclear |
Target gene experiment: | Western blot//qRT-PCR |
Target gene description: | Moreover, western blot analysis of whole lung homogenates from d14 mice treated with NA revealed a clear reduction in the level of SIRT1 protein in Carm1+/- mice compared to WT controls, with a concomitant increase in p53 levels .Mechanistically, CARM1-silenced cells demonstrated reduced expression of SIRT1, and treating CARM1-silenced cells with the SIRT1 activator resveratrol, reversed the impaired wound healing. |
